Citarella Gourmet Stuffing

This classic stuffing is so easy to put together because our gourmet mix has everything you need in one package. It’s delicious on its own, but it also makes a great base on which to build layers of flavors with additional ingredients. Make it your own!
Ingredients
- 1 bag Citarella Stuffing Mix
- 2 cups broth
- 6 Tbsp salted butter
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Open stuffing packaging and remove packet of dried mushrooms. Place mushrooms in a bowl and cover with 2 cups boiling water. Cover bowl and let steep for minimum 3 hours.
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a small pot, add mushrooms with their soaking liquid, butter, and stock. Bring to a simmer, then cover and remove from heat, allowing to steep for 5 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary.
- In a large bowl add remaining contents of stuffing mix and pour hot liquid on top, mix until bread has absorbed the liquid. (If you are stuffing a turkey, allow the stuffing to cool then add it to the cavity of the turkey.)
- Rub olive oil around bottom and sides of a 13’ x 9’ baking dish. Pour stuffing mixture into baking dish and cover with foil. Bake for 25 minutes. Turn oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit, remove foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to rest for 5 minutes then enjoy with your favorite Citarella sides!
